    Nashvile, TN.

The Tennessee Titans have shocked the XML world today by acquiring the first overall selection in tomorrow nights draft. The rumors are flying as to who the Titans targeted with such great enthusiasm.

Reports coming out of Nashville are the Titans have opened negotiations with an undisclosed team to send FS Michael Griffin, the teams first round selection in the 2007 draft. Rumors are flying that the Titans are in love with hard hitting FS Furious Foster out of Pittsburgh, so the deals may coincide.

The Titans are looking to build on a 9-7 campaign a season about that had them one game short (a week 17 loss to the Bears) from making their first postseason in XML 13. The team hopes that with the free agent additions they have made so far and the moves pending they will be able to contend with the division champion Indianapolis Colts and the Wildcard super team Houston Texans.

Listed Below are the teams free agent acquisitions:

LG Montrae Holland brings a big body with good run blocking skills to the Titans already solid offensive line.

LE Andrew Wells was brought in to be a rotational player behind the last two defensive rookie of the years. His speedy edge rushing should help the Titans be one of the leagues highest in sack totals.

MLB Mario Harvey was targeted by the team as soon as Colin McCarthy was traded to the New York Jets. The team was looking for a speedy backup MLB to fill in for starter Tevin Simmons who exploded on the scene in his rookie year. Harvey brings versatility to the LB corp as he can play all three positions.

WR Danny Amendola was signed to be a role player on offense as well. Rumors are if something comes along the in draft that he may be released during the preseason.

SS Chris Proszinski another speedy weapon for this already deadly fast team. He brings speed to the table and will make a great role player.

TE Cameron Morrah will come in and be Jared Cooks backup as well as a speed weapon when the team goes into its 12 personnel

LOLB Ladarius Campbell comes in to be a backup to incumbent Dontay Moch. He is also on the roster bubble come preseason.

    Titans draft haul and expectations:

Round 1 pick 1: FS Furious Foster 81 overall out of Pittaburgh. Hard hitting speed demon out of Pitt has caused his share of force fumbles and injuries in college and he is expected to bring that and some ball hawking that the titans secondary has been lacking since taking another safety in the 2007 draft.

Round 1 pick 6: LG Matt Gray 89 overall Mid Tennessee State: A true mauler at the guard position, Gray is expected to pave the way for Chris Johnson's best season yet. This is a kid the Titans had their eyes on all season being he was a local kid playing down the road in Murfreesboro, TN.

Round 2 pick 17: TE Stuart Hagar 74 overall, Winston Salem. Another fairly local product out of North Carolina who put on a show in Division II college ball last year. He fell in the draft due to some concerns of his weight and attitude. The Titans hope to keep him in check.

Round 2 pick 19: LOLB TJ Jones 74 overall, Pittsburgh: The Titans take another hard hittings player out of the Pittsburgh program with a whopping 95 hit power, TJ Jones will compete with Dontay Moch for the starting LOLB spot.

Round 3 pick 17: P Will McGowan 81 overall, Mississippi State's all time leading punter in yards and pinning opposing teams insider the 20. The Titans thought so highly of this punter they selected him in the third round, Four years after the Jaguars were laughed at for taking a punter in the third round.

Round 3 pick 26: CB Gregory Phillips 63 overall, Fairfield: The Titans may have reached for this small school product but they liked what they saw in his man coverage and speed. He will sit in behind the bevy of depth the Titans currently have at corner.

Round 4 pick 1: WR Tyrus Chance 77 overall, Florida. Chance was a trackstar at Florida and has real soft hands. Standing 6'2 this guy can fly! His rookie year may turn out to be one where he only returns punts and kicks, however an injury or poor play from others may move him up the depth chart.

Round 4 pick 3: HB Frankie Daniels 69 overall, Clemson: Another speed back comes to the Titans. Daniels will be 3rd string as a rookie, he may push 2nd string Troy Franklin for playing time.

Round 4 pick 17: DT Mike Hubbard 69 overall, Florida State U: a big, strong man who will look to break into the Titans DT rotation.

Round 5 pick 17: CB KJ Williams 69 overall, North Arizona, Another depth draft pick for the Titans. KJ will struggle to find playing time.
