Congrats to indo! Let's give it up to him for a great season! Also to sully for taking the Bears to the bowl!

Today (Wednesday) I will post more regarding free agency and when our rookie draft will be. Check back. Just know that I'd like to have a period (maybe a day or posting online or something) where guys who traded for a player bid on that player only if they wish to sign him. Everyone else would be fair game. Trades are re-instated as soon as I advance to the offseason again and I will open up the transaction log thread for trade proposals as usual when it is open.

    Congrats Indo!!!

yo DK, according to BSAMike and Hass...there is a re-signing period as soon as you advance, and it DOES allow us to re-sign players who we traded for that are on one year deals. But from what they were saying, you only get one chance to re-sign them...so if you lowball them, they'll enter free agency the following week. And there are apparently only 3 weeks of free agency, not 4, which is what I was led to believe it was. Talk to Mike and Hass, since they are in the off-season in their other league, so they know more about this than I do.

Nice work on the SB win.

Now let's get this mother started.

Anyone got leads on replacement owners for the open teams? I guarantee someone out there would want the Raiders.

Congratz Indo, glad to see a former division rival win it all.

As far as the offseason, there are 7 stages on which we are allowed to sign our own FAs according to our cap, scout, do trades etc. If you have any players like in my case TE Walker who did not accept my deal during the regular season, then they will hit FA and it will be a bidding war . In the first stage, you will get a chance to sign your own players before anybody else, players that were playing on the last year of their contracts. You will notice that for some reasons, you won’t have the option to resign some of them, maybe because they want to go elsewhere, or don’t like your team’s prestige or low interest etc. You will have the option to Franchise Tag on your players, but Tagging can be only used once. Then if I recall correctly from other leagues I am, FA opens and bunch of good players will become available and you can bid on them. After commish keeps on advancing, you will find out if you end up with the FA you wanted. Then comes preparation for draft, you can start trading picks and/or players, scout oncoming rookie draft. It is suggested that you spent your XP points in scouting because you won’t be able to scout players once draft begins. I think I covered pretty much the offseason, I know a few guys from here have gone thru some offseasons, so feel free to correct me if I am missing anything.

In addition, some of the issues we have encountered other leagues, if you are trading a player on last year of his contract, a player who did not accept your deal and will hit FA, is encourage that you let your other party know about it, because once he hits FA, is up for grabs, and you will need to let everybody know that an X player on the FA pool belongs to you, so nobody else can bid on him. You don’t want people unaware of the situation, signing guys with big bonus and then getting hit on cap because they did not know X player was involved on a trade….
